Player assessments and selections can often raise anxiety, tension, and many questions for those involved (players, parents and coaches). In an attempt to minimize negative feelings and questions around the evaluation process, it is very important that everyone fully understands the process itself, which we have explained in the following information.
The CFC Player Transition Program is a year round initiative designed to:

Provide players the opportunity to be assessed for the various levels throughout the season

Assesses players over a longer period of time allowing them to truly get an accurate picture of a player’s strengths and weaknesses
U14 – U18: Recreational Program to Divisional Program Integration:
Process – Coach Recommendation:
Step 1: Coaches monitor players within their team environment and identify players who are excelling
Step 2: Call for recommendations are made by the Technical Staff to the Head Coaches two times per season. Once in October and again in January. Once received, players are then invited to attend a training session and/or game with the requested level.
Process – Request for Player Assessment:
Step 1: The Family completes the request for player assessment.
Step 2: Once received, players are added to a player database where they will be invited to attend a training session and/or game with the requested level
Process – Technical Staff Observations:
Step 1: Technical staff observe training and games/consult with coaches
Step 2: Identified players are added to a player database where they will be invited to attend a training session and/or game with the requested level
