PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
TELUS She CAN Coach is a national coach recruitment, development, and training project designed for women to address the challenges they face regarding soccer participation.The core intention of TELUS She CAN Coach is to create pathways for recruiting, developing, and training women coaches, beginning at the grassroots level. By providing financial support and access to necessary coach education programs, we aim to help women coaches navigate the system successfully.
KEY FEATURES INCLUDE:
•Financial support and access to Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Coach Education Program and Safe Sport Roster training.
•Access to a national support network that enhances grassroots capacity, including exclusive content, virtual webinars with sports experts, and ongoing guidance.
INTENDED OUTCOMES:
•Increase the number of women role models in coaching to inspire young girls to stay in the game.
•Expand the pool of women coaches at the grassroots level, empowering them to pursue advanced coach education.
This program incentivizes clubs to recruit more women coaches while empowering these coaches to recognize their opportunities and place in the sport.

DEVELOP
Diverse women leaders are critical in creating a welcoming and safe space for girls in sport. This project will strive to support and advance gender equity in soccer by reducing the barriers of entry for women to coach, with the hope that this will increase the registration of women and girls and help to balance the gender gap in participation.
INSPIRE
We aim to increase the number of women coaches and encourage more girls to engage in the sport.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:​
To complete your application, please ensure you include the following:

A current member of Coastal FC for the Fall 2025/26 season and identifies as female. (Parent or Volunteer-Coach)

Coastal FC TELUS She CAN Coach Club Leads will review your application and contact you if it meets the program requirements.
PARTICIPANTS RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participants can access program content and coach education training at any time through the online learning portal.

Nour Fathy
Nour Fathy has been part of Coastal FC since 2012, sharing his love for soccer and helping players grow. He holds top coaching certifications, including the CSA National A License, and has experience coaching at high levels, such as Simon Fraser University, the Vancouver Whitecaps (Women), and the BC Soccer Provincial Program. As a former Whitecaps Youth player himself, Nour understands the game from both a player’s and a coach’s perspective. His passion and knowledge make him a great mentor for young athletes.

Andrea Perrotta
Andrea Perotta has been with Coastal FC since 2022, helping young players learn and enjoy soccer. She has strong coaching experience and holds a CSA National B License. Andrea has coached at top clubs like Fusion FC and Mountain United and now leads the U8-U13 Rec program while also coaching in the Skill Centre and the 2010 Girls BCSPL team. As a former Douglas College soccer player, she won many awards, including PacWest Player of the Year. Andrea’s love for the game and coaching makes her a great leader and role model for young athletes.
