JUNIOR COACH
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Coastal FC believes that by having players help with the coaching process they will not only develop leadership skills but also evolve into the club's future coaches. Junior coaches work with staff coaches in the Academy Programs, Cubs Program, Champions Program as well as various camps and other special programs.
PROGRAM DETAILS:
The Program will consist of mentorship, certification, and training over the duration of the season using a combination of on-field support for the Mentoree with the assigned Mentor. This will allow our older players (U15 and older) the ability to transition from players into coaching roles through the club. Their involvement will be based through academy programs, Coastal Cubs program, Spring and Summer Break Camps while under the guidance of their assigned mentor. Mentoree’s will be required to work through completing the following courses through the new Canada Soccer Grassroots Coaches Program (Active Start, Fundamentals, Learn to Train). They will also be required to complete 30 hours of volunteering as part of the program.

Mentorees will be the first to be hired in any Junior Staff coaching positions that become available.

HOW DO I JOIN THE JUNIOR COACH MENTORSHIP PROGRAM?
Players U15 and over interesting in the program can fill in the Junior Coach Mentorship Program Form with any relevant playing/coaching experience.
LOCATION: South Surrey Athletic Park & the BMO Coastal Soccer Centre.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE: The program will run in conjunction with various programs throughout the year. Days/times will vary depending on the program.
