Mandatory "Respect in Sport" Online Training for Team Staff

Overview

Canada Soccer and BC Soccer have partnered with the Respect Group to provide essential online education for coaches, referees, and parents. This initiative aims to create a safe, healthy, and positive environment for children and youth involved in soccer.

About The Program

The Respect in Sport program assists coaches, referees, and managers in identifying and dealing with abuse, neglect, harassment, and bullying in sports. Developed by Canada Soccer, this comprehensive program equips coaches with the tools necessary to prevent bullying, harassment, and discrimination, reinforcing your role in promoting positive sports behaviours.

Course Details

• Cost: The online course costs $30, but Coastal FC will cover the cost for all staff volunteers. You will receive a club code to input during pre-registration.

• Duration: The curriculum is divided into six modules, taking only 2.5 hours to complete. The course can be paused and resumed at your convenience.

• Certification: Once completed, your Respect in Sport certification is valid for 5 years and can be transferred to other sports involved in Respect in Sport.

Who Needs to Complete the Training?

This training is essential for all coaches, assistant coaches, managers, and gender representatives to comply with our Canada Soccer National Youth Club Licence and ongoing requirements. If you have previously completed this course, there is no need to retake it as long as your certification has not expired.

Monitoring and Deadline

This course is mandatory. In conjunction with BC Soccer, we will be monitoring its completion. The deadline for completing the program is August 30th, 2025.
