Our Coastal FC 2011 Girls White team had an amazing weekend at the BC Provincial B Cup Championships, held from July 10 to 13, 2025, in Kamloops, BC. The event took place at McArthur Island Park. Over the four days, 80 teams from across the province in age groups U14 to U18 competed for the provincial title. Our Coastal FC girls played four competitive games, earned two big wins, and proudly finished fifth overall. The girls showed incredible heart, teamwork, and Coastal spirit through every match.

In their first game against Kamloops United FC, Coastal came out strong and controlled much of the play. In the 72nd minute, Wendi Liu broke through and scored the winning goal after a great pass from Jaina Chothani. The team stayed solid at the back and earned a well-deserved 1–0 win and clean sheet.

Head Coach Cam Buschel said after the game, “Our strength was in our unity, rock-solid defence, unbreakable teamwork, clutch goaltending, and every player giving their all for each other. That’s how we earned this win together.”

Game two was a tough rematch against Aldergrove, who had previously beaten Coastal FC in a penalty shootout during the Coastal Cup Final. Coastal looked sharp early on, but an early mistake led to a goal from Aldergrove. They added two more in the second half as the Aldergrove pressed forward. Coastal was disappointed with the 0–3 result, as they had hoped for redemption.

In Game three, the girls battled Saanich Fusion FC in Kamloops heat. Saanich went up 1–0 early in the game, but Coastal didn’t give up. In the 77th minute, Brielle Fure scored a great goal to close the gap to 1–2. The team pushed hard for the equalizer but ran out of time against the eventual tournament champions.

The final game was against Penticton Pinnacles FC. Coastal started strong with a goal in the 3rd minute from Jaina Chothani, set up by Isla Young and Vaani Sidana. Coastal stayed in control for most of the game, but Penticton managed to tie it up with about 15 minutes left in the second half. The game went to penalties. Wendy Liu and Talene Rai both scored, and goalkeeper Avery Fiendell came up huge, stopping every shot she faced in the shootout and sealing the win for Coastal.

Head Coach Cam Buschel was proud of the group, saying, “Our girls played their hearts out this weekend. Despite the extreme heat, they gave everything they had and stuck together through four close games. They showed a lot of character and composure. We’re proud of their performance and even more proud of how they support and lift each other up.”

Congratulations to our 2011 Girls White team on a strong finish at Provincials. You made the club proud!💙⚽️
