Coastal FC Announces Several Technical Staff Changes As The Club Continues To Grow & Develop

Coastal FC is pleased to announce the following staffing changes ahead of the 2024/2025 fall/winter season. As part of our long-term strategy to address the needs of our rapidly growing club community, the club will be restructuring some of our current staff while also employing additional staff to enhance service delivery.


Chris Murphy, Coastal FC Executive Director, said, “As Surrey’s largest and fastest growing club, it is imperative that we are able to meet the needs and expectations of our members.  By expanding our coaching staff we are reinforcing Coastal FC’s commitment to all aspects of development.  Players are afforded critical instruction by a wider range and experience of professional coaches, while our volunteer coaches are learning valuable tools through an enhanced mentorship program. I’m excited to see the integration of our new staff, and I am grateful to have a collection of people, on and off the field, who show tremendous dedication to the club and community on a daily basis.” 


Nour Fathy has transitioned to Director of Soccer Operations, Andy King has been named Director of the Skill Centre for U8-U13 and will be supported by Steven Duffy and Mark Baldisimo as technical staff leads for the Skills Centre. In addition, the club has hired Andrea Perrotta & Melissa Joseph, the female staff leaders in the Skills Centre, and Adrian Cairns, who will also be a staff lead for the newly developed Skill Centre. David Hicks will join the club full-time as the new Indoor U5-U7 Program Manager, while freshly added staff Lincohn Silva will be joining Coastal FC as the new U14 - U18 Recreational & Divisional lead.


Fathy joined the staff in 2012 as an Assistant Technical Director and has been an integral part of Coastal FC, involved in team relations, club certifications, program management, and coach allocation. Nour holds several certifications, including the CSA National A License, CSA Youth Licence, CSA Children’s License, and the Essential Impact: Excelerator Essentials Coaching License. 


King, who joined the staff in 2022 as a Senior Staff Coach, has played a pivotal role in nurturing the newly established Skill Centre, which will launch its first season in the Fall of 2024. He has several certifications, including the CSA National A License (Part 1), CSA Children’s License, US Youth Soccer National Youth Diploma, and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.


Duffy will join the Skill Centre staff as a Staff Coach. As one of our most experienced staff members, Steven previously managed the club's U13-Adult programs and has spent many years coaching in the club's BCSPL program. Steven has been a key figure in the club over the past 12 years. Steven holds a CSA National B License and CSA Youth License.


Baldisimo has been with Coastal FC since 2014 as a Senior Staff Coach and has previously served as the Technical Lead for our Indoor U5-U7 programs. In his new role within the Skill Centre, he will play a key role in the on-field service delivery. Baldisimo holds a BCSA C Licence and is in the process of obtaining his CSA Children's License.


Cairns is another addition to our staff and will join the club's Skills Centre program as one of our technical leads. He has been an influential figure in previous years, spending time working in our club's academy programs and the club's BCSPL program. He holds certifications such as the UEFA A Licence, UEFA B Diploma, and FAI Level 1.


Andrea Perotta has been with Coastal FC since 2022 and will serve as a Skill Centre Coach.  Her coaching experience includes leading Coastal FC 2010G BCSPL to victory in the 2023 BC Soccer Provincial Premier Championships. She holds certifications, including the CSA National B License and BC Soccer Pre-B.


Melissa Joseph joined Coastal FC in 2024 and will also serve as a Skill Centre Coach. Joseph comes from Supra Academy, where she coached boys and girls to reach their full soccer potential while also being given the opportunity to travel to Europe to gain further coaching experience. Melissa currently holds a C-License, ASA Active Start, ASA Fundamentals, ASA Learn to Train, ASA Soccer for Life, ASA Making Head Way in Soccer, Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders, NCCP Emergency Action Plan and NCCP Understanding the Rule of Two.  


Hicks started his time at Coastal FC in 2018, he will be serving as the club’s Indoor U5-U7 program manager focusing on the indoor recreational programs, as well as assisting with the Coastal FC Goalkeeper programs. Hicks holds his BC Soccer goalkeeping diploma as well as his CSA C Licence. 


Silva recently joined Coastal FC in 2024 and will also be joining in a full-time capacity, overseeing the U14-U18 Recreational and Divisional Program and coaching in the club academy programs. Silva has experience coaching in Brazil, the United States, Egypt and the Netherlands. He holds a Brazilian C License and intends to complete his Canadian coaching courses as well.
