Coastal FC announces Technical Staff Updates Ahead of the Fall 2026-27 Season

Coastal FC is announcing technical staff updates to our Recreational, Rep/Divisional, Skill Centre, and Academy programs as we continue to adapt, strengthen, and support the soccer experience for all our members.

Jane Graham will be stepping into the U3–U7 Indoor Program Lead role, taking over from David Hicks. Jane will focus on creating a fun, welcoming environment for our youngest players across our indoor programs and camps. A physical education teacher in the Delta School District and former Technical Lead for Long Term Player Development (Girls) at Richmond United FC, Jane holds a BCSA B-Prep Provincial License and a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from UBC with a research focus on soccer player development. A former Langara College player, she brings extensive coaching experience as a Senior Staff Coach at South Delta United, Head Coach at KLM, Lead Instructor at UBC Soccer School, Assistant Coach at Douglas College, and staff coach across Richmond youth programs.

David Hicks is transitioning into the U14–U18 Rec and Rep Program Lead role, while also serving as Academy Program Lead overseeing technical direction and technical staff for the Coastal FC Academy programs.

Jessica Hamilton is moving into the U8–U13 Rec Program Lead role alongside her U8-U13 Skill Centre Admin duties, and will also continue to serve her Event Management duties while helping guide the upcoming Women and Girls Engagement Initiative (WGEI).

Andrea Perrotta is pursuing a new professional path to work in education. While shifting her focus to her studies, Andrea will remain part of Coastal FC as the Head Coach of our Women’s Premier Team and continue to support various programs, including the Academy and seasonal camps across the club.

Steven Duffy steps up to take over as our U8–U13 Skill Centre Program Lead following Andy King's departure. A familiar face to our community, Steven has been with Coastal FC since 2012. Steven brings strong experience and qualifications to the role, holding a CSA National B License, a CSA Youth License, and having recently completed the CSA Children’s License. He has also worked as a Coastal FC Senior Staff Coach, BCSPL Head Coach, and BC Soccer Provincial Program Head Coach. Steven also has a proven track record of supporting youth players in advancing to higher-level environments, including Vancouver Whitecaps, Vancouver Rise, the BC Soccer Provincial Program, Canadian and U.S. college programs, and youth and senior national team pathways.

Steven will lead the Skill Centre Program alongside Ivan Mejia and Jorge Molina, who will continue to deliver excellence in leadership and coaching as Staff Coaches in our Skill Centre and Academy streams, and at seasonal camps.

We are also excited to welcome Ben Campbell to our Technical Staff as a Staff Coach, bringing additional support to the Skill Centre & Recreational Program. Ben has spent the past few years coaching in the Whitecaps FC Prospects and Development Camps, in addition to working with Coastal FC in our Skill Centre Intake Academy, Position-Specific Academies, and our U5-U7 Indoor program. He possesses all levels of the Canada Soccer Grassroots Education Program and brings a wealth of playing experience as a current player of our Coastal FC Adult program.  

Additionally, Matthew Baldisimo will also join Coastal FC as a Staff Coach. Coastal FC families will recognize the name; Matthew is the brother of former Skill Centre coach Mark Baldisimo. Matthew brings top-tier professional experience to our young players as a former Whitecaps Academy, Canadian Youth National Team, and Philippines Men's National Team player, with professional appearances for Whitecaps FC 2, Fresno FC (USL), Pacific FC (CPL), and York United (CPL). Matthew will assist with on-field sessions for Coastal FC's Skill Centre, Academy, and seasonal camps.

We would like to recognize our departing staff members whose contributions have helped shape our club's strong foundation. Long-standing staff member Andy King is moving on after four amazing years of service, having served as Skill Centre Director over the last two years, leading the development of the program. Beyond building its structure, Andy created an exceptional on-field environment filled with humour, positive energy, and memorable experiences for our players. Melissa Joseph has also departed the Skill Centre to pursue new opportunities. We are deeply grateful to both Andy and Melissa for their hard work and positive impact, and we wish them both continued success in their next chapters.

These updates allow us to build on our achievements, expand specialized initiatives such as our Girls and Women's Engagement Program, and ensure top-tier development, support, and enjoyment for all players and coaches across all age groups.
