PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Coastal Goalkeeping Academy welcomes ambitious players of all abilities; our priority is to ensure development of every player attending the academy.
BEGINNER GOALKEEPER ACADEMY
The Beginner Goalkeeping Academy aims to introduce local players to goal keeping skills and help them reach their potential.
The mission of the Goalkeeping Academy is to provide excellence in pursuit of development. Our development model allows us to teach, improve, and perfect technical and tactical aspects of the game; without detracting from fun and enjoyment of playing the greatest game on earth. Every player will come away accepting the importance of hard work, healthy living, team concepts and will understand the importance of having fun every time they step on the field.
INTERMEDIATE GOALKEEPER ACADEMY
The Intermediate Goalkeeping Academy aims is for those players that have taken an interest in goaltending, and wish to further develop their skills in this area. The program is geared towards House/Rec, Development and Prospect goalkeepers. Goalies will be taught how to improve, and perfect technical and tactical aspects of the game. Goalkeepers will train in a pay per use Academy environment 1 time per week. Players will be supported by professional coaching staff that will cover the 4 main pillars of development: technical, tactical, physical, and psychological. This will cover the main techniques and skills of goalkeeping: goalkeeping specific warm ups, handling, footwork, diving, shot stopping, one v one, crossing and dealing with high balls, dealing with the back pass and distribution from hands and feet. These topics will be covered in realistic match related sessions.
ADVANCED GOALKEEPER ACADEMY - BY INVITATION ONLY
The Advanced Goalkeeper Academy is geared towards BCSPL, Metro, Divisional, Development and Prospect goalkeepers. Goalkeepers will train in a pay per use academy environment one time per week. Players will be split into groups consistent with their ability/level, BCSPL, Divisional and minis. Players will be supported by professional coaching staff that will cover the 4 main pillars of development: technical, tactical, physical, and psychological. This will cover the main techniques and skills of goalkeeping: goalkeeping specific warm ups, handling, footwork, diving, shot stopping, one v one, crossing and dealing with high balls, dealing with the back pass and distribution from hands and feet. These topics will be covered in realistic match related sessions.
The goal of the High Performance Goalkeeper Academy is to help develop and continue to grow goalkeepers through the stages of learning. This is focused on the high performance player who wants to continue to excel in their primary position as a goalkeeper. The aim of the academy will be to improve technique through simple, realistic practice, give the goalkeeper the tools in the box” they require to be a successful, consistent, reliable performer, to develop movement skills and patterns specific to goalkeeping, and to help with decision making and other psychological aspects of the position. The experience gained from attending our Goalkeeping Academy will properly prepare players for the transition into the high performance levels of programming within the club.
PROGRAM DURATION:
Beginner/Intermediate: Tuesday April 11, 2023 through to Tuesday June 13, 2023
Advanced: Thursday April 13, 2023 through to Thursday June 15, 2023
TRAINING SCHEDULE:
PROGRAM FEES: $310.00
GOALS/OBJECTIVES: The program will provide an opportunity for players to develop technical and tactical abilities in order to prepare for progression to the Coastal BCSPL, Provincial, and Whitecaps FC professional youth programs.
CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: There are no refunds once the program has started. Cancellations made prior to the start of the season will have a $50.00 administration fee applied.
