Coastal FC Announces BCSPL Intake Coaches
For the 2006-born BCSPL Season Starting September 2018.
Coastal Football Club is delighted to announce the appointments of Robbie Tice as head coach of the 2006 born BCSPL Girls intake team, and Mark Baldisimo as head coach of the 2006 born BCSPL Boys team. Both coaches will spend time working in the Coastal BCSPL Academy over the course of the season where they will have the opportunity to work with and scout potential players for their respective groups. In addition, they will also visit our regional partners (North Delta and South Delta United) games and training sessions, and will take the opportunity to bring the collective partner players together on occasion.
Robbie holds a CSA National B coaching license and has been a senior staff coach at Coastal FC for the past 2 years. As a player, Robbie was fortunate to have a professional career that allowed him to experience soccer in England, Scotland, and Norway in addition to playing for the Canadian National Futsal team. On his return to Canada, Robbie immersed himself in coach education as he pursued a professional coaching career working for Coastal and other local clubs and academy programs. In addition to his current U15 BCSPL team, Robbie is also a support staff for the BC Soccer High Performance Program.
Coastal FC is thrilled to assign a coach of Robbie's caliber into an age group where players are experiencing the BCSPL level of play for the first time and transitioning to the 11-a-side game. He has played a part in developing some of the best male and female players in British Columbia in recent years, many of whom have went on to play at a Provincial level. His coaching experience from grassroots to high performance levels will be of significant benefit in the development of this intake group. We are certain that those fortunate enough to be selected will feel extremely privileged work with Robbie in what will be a top class developmental environment.
Mark Baldisimo is in the process of gaining his National B coaching license, and has already enjoyed 3 years coaching experience in the BCSPL. As an integral part of the coaching staff, Mark’s on-going efforts contributed to the advancement of players into the Whitecaps FC residency program and top universities throughout North America. In addition, he also played a significant role in BCSPL League Cup success with both U15 Boys and U18 Girls. As a player, Mark had the privilege of being selected for BC Provincial and CSA National Training Centre programs at a youth level, before spending time in the professional environments of SC Bonner in Germany, and Whitecaps FC Residency and PDL programs. Currently, Mark continues to play in the men’s FVSL Premier League with Coastal FC.
Coastal FC is extremely happy to have retained the services of one of the most talented youth coaches in the soccer community. Mark's continued involvement with the club ensures the delivery of an excellent developmental environment for young aspiring players. His playing experience at youth, professional and adult levels, combined with his ability to connect with young players and deliver knowledge as a coach is among the best around. Those selected will benefit greatly from Mark's knowledge, experience, and development first approach.
Mark McQueen, Technical Director of Coastal FC said, "We are delighted to have secured two of the most progressive coaches available within the soccer community, both of whom already have good experience developing players within the BCSPL and contributing to their advancement to higher levels. Robbie and Mark are seen as two of the best technical coaches in the system having retained many of the modern coaching methods from their experiences in professional environments in both North America and Europe. Their appointment ensures our intake players will be provided the best possible opportunity to succeed in achieving their goals in the sport. Appointing coaches with their ability and experience, is another example of our commitment to excellence, and also why Coastal Football Club, with support from our regional partners North Delta and South Delta United, is recognized as a leader in player development”.
