In March, 2017 I was able to organize an overseas charity project to deliver new soccer uniforms for a local boys & girls club in Vikas Puri, New Delhi known as "My Angels Academy"

This club works with underprivileged children in the slums of New Delhi. I had the opportunity to get in touch with coach Sylvester Peter who dedicates his time and efforts running this academy to provide a better life for children in the slums.  I was able to meet up with local players from the academy and provide four teams with new soccer uniforms, with the help of Coastal F.C whom generously donated approximately 100 uniforms.

In addition, to visiting one area in New Delhi, I was able to travel to a local college in Ganganagar, Rajasthan. I had collected second hand jerseys and shorts from Coastal youth teams which provided two soccer teams at “GSGD" public college. This experience, allowed me to tap into the youthful energy and enter hearts of student athletes. I spoke to current students about what soccer is like in Canada and the importance of keeping a balance lifestyle between sports and academics. Whether, it’s going for a simple walk, or getting together with friends and playing a friendly match of soccer.

Both these experiences changed my perspective and showed me the importance of how sports plays a pivotal role in communities around the world.
