CHAMPIONS PROGRAM

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Coastal FC is excited to offer an adapted soccer program for children with disabilities. Coastal FC’s Champions Program is offered to boys and girls who are 7 to 18 years of age and is suitable for all participants with special needs. This program will be led by professional coaches/staff and Volunteer Junior Coaches who will provide a supportive and passionate environment for participants to have fun and develop their soccer skills. Due to the restrictions regarding COVID-19, parent/family/behaviour interventionists participation is mandatory to ensure social distancing is adhered to by all registrants.
Champions Program will have a primary focus on individual participation where each participants along with their “Home Support” are able to participate in different stations. Stations will be set up to best promote physical distancing, limit sharing of equipment and ensure the safety of all participants. Some of our exciting stations will include dribbling and relays, passing competition with targets, a shooting station to score as many goals as you can! Individuals can choose to stay at one activity for the duration of the session or move from one station to the next while maintaining physical distancing. Our main goal is to ensure that all members in the community have an opportunity to participate in their favourite sport!
PROGRAM DETAILS: Participants aged 7-18 years old (2006 - 2016)

One indoor training session each week lead by Professional Coaches & Staff

Parent participation may/may not be required; however, parents must remain present at all times.

All Champions Participants will receive an official t-shirt

Minimal equipment required (We will have all equipment); appropriate running shoes or soccer cleats only; shin guards are recommended but not required.
LOCATION: BMO Coastal Soccer Centre, South Surrey Athletic Park
DURATION: The Winter program will begin Sunday September 10, 2023 through to Sunday December 3, 2023; 12 weeks
No play: Thanksgiving Weekend (October 7-9)

Volunteers - What do you need to volunteer?

You must be 15 years of age or older in the year 2023

Available to attend all sessions (each session is approx 1 hour in length) If you cannot attend a session, we must be notified well in advance so that we have ample time to find a replacement for that day. These children require stability therefore if prior to the start of the program, you know that you will miss 4 or more sessions maybe this isn't the volunteer opportunity for you.
